Explorers for New Entrant Children

Explorers Group for New Entrant Children

Explorers at East Taieri School

East Taieri School has a transition programme that is called ‘The Explorers’. It is held on a Tuesday afternoon from 1.35 – 2.35 in Junior classes. The children who are going to be starting school are welcome to come along in the term before they start their 4 formal school visits. We would ideally like children to come along for 5-6 of these sessions, but this is flexible. All we would ask is that parents let either Annette in the office (4896737) or Natalie King (natalie@east-taieri.school.nz) know the day before the sessions.

Parents and pre-school teachers are most welcome to come with their children to these sessions, with the idea that the children will be independent when starting classroom visits. This will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and for me to share any information you may need in the lead up to starting school.

If you know of anyone who is due to start school and they are unaware of The Explorers group, please contact me natalie@east-taieri.school.nz
