You can view this information video created by the HERO team. It outlines a number of features that the HERO app enables for parents, teachers and students. Note that some of the features will be turned on and used at later stages (once the teachers have received professional development on their use).

What is HERO?

Hero is a powerful and secure online sharing platform that can be customised to reflect the curriculum, vision and values of any school. Built by teachers, school leaders and parents to help schools reduce workload, increase student agency and support parents to understand progress.

One app to keep parents up to date!

Hero brings all school communications into a single app that works across multiple schools.

Log in and view progress

Hero is designed to reduce the number of places that parents need to check for information about school. Parents and caregivers can log in to their Hero account (even if they have students at multiple schools) and see all their learning stories; assessments; progress data; school notices; pay their school account online … all through one app, Hero.

Logging into Hero – Information for Families

By clicking on the LINK you will be taken to a page that supports you to set up, log into and use some of the features of HERO.

At this stage only some of the features of HERO are active. As the year progresses more of these features will be opened up for parents to access. You will be informed when these happen.

Important – you MUST log in using the email address that you have provided to Annette in the office. If you haven’t provided an email address or cannot remember the email address you have provided, contact Annette MacRae – annette@east-taieri.school.nz or 034896737 to check this.

Each parent must use their own email address.
