Enrolling Your Children

We welcome you to East Taieri School, and wish you and your children a happy and positive association with the school. Whether your child is just starting school aged five, or joining us having transferred from another school, we at East Taieri wish to make this first important day a happy one!

You can pre-enrol your child using our online form (online form). Please note we still require all relevant documents before your child is fully enrolled. Please read all documents carefully.

To enrol your child you will need to:

  • complete an enrolment form (one form per child please) – this is online here (online form)
  • provide a copy of your child’s immunisation certificate
  • provide a Birth Certificate
  • provide a Passport (if enrolling on a student visa)
  • read complete a Digital Citizenship Agreement

  • read and complete the Parent Consent for EOTC Activities form (here)
  • Consent for EOTC Private Vehicle Transport (here)
  • Check you are in the East Taieri Primary school enrolment zone – this can be viewed here (zone)
  • Understanding HERO (here)
  • Means of Communication at East Taieri School (here)

Associated documents can be:

  • posted to East Taieri Primary school, 11 Cemetery Road, Mosgiel, 9024
  • emailed to etaieri@east-taieri.school.nz
  • dropped off at the East Taieri school office, 11 Cemetery Road, Mosgiel

Once we’ve received your enrolment form, we will contact you to confirm your enrolment and to arrange a time to meet with you and your child.

If your child is a new entrant (starting for the first time at school), we will give you a call to explain transition arrangements.

ENROLMENT SCHEME NOTIFICATION

1 January 2027 – 31 December 2027

Enrolment at East Taieri School is governed by an enrolment scheme. The details of which are available from the school office and on the school website.

If you live in the home zone of East Taieri School, your child has automatic right of entry. If you plan to enrol your child at East Taieri School for 2027 but have not yet notified the school, please contact the school office as soon as possible.

If you live outside of the school’s home zone you do not have automatic right of enrolment. Please read the following carefully.

OUT OF ZONE PLACES FOR 2027

The East Taieri School Board of Trustees has determined that there is likely to be a limited number of places available for Out-of-Zone New Entrant students and no places for out-of-zone Year 2-6 students.

Applications for enrolment for Out-of-Zone New Entrant students close at 12pm on Friday 4 September 2026

Please submit your enrolment through our school website www.easttaieri.school.nz or contact the office 03-489-6737 or email etaieri@east-taieri.school.nz

If out-of-zone applications exceed the number of places available, a ballot will be held.
