World of Wearable Arts 2024
East Taieri World of Wearable Arts Show
The key understandings of the Inquiry were:
- Materials have different properties that determine how we use them.
- Design thinking follows a specific process
Our students have worked in collaborative groups to design, plan and create their unique wearable art pieces.
The piece was entered in one of the following categories:
- Paper Bag Princes and Princesses – Paper/Cardboard Products
- Plastic Fantastic – Plastics
- Our Backyard – Natural Products
- Awesome Accessories – Hats, Bags, Masks
- Junkyard – Metals, Wood, Tinfoil Products, Recycled Technology
- Fabulous Fabrics – Materials
In Week 10, designs were shared as part of our livestreamed show! Each section was judged by our guest judge – Grace Ockwell who works as a In-House Legal Counsel at Te Wananga o Aotearoa, which is an Education company. She has entered the Wellington WOW awards and was a finalist three times. We were very appreciative of her volunteering her expertise to judge our East Taieri WOW Awards.
