Teacher Assistant (Middle Team) – Fixed Term (Until End of 2026).
Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of children every day? East Taieri School is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Teacher Assistant to join our Year 3–4 pod through to the end of 2026.
About the Role
As a Teacher Assistant, you will play an important part in supporting our students to feel confident, capable, and engaged in their learning. You will work closely alongside teachers to help students access the curriculum and experience success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building positive, respectful relationships with students
- Supporting tailored literacy and numeracy programmes
- Confidently carrying out a range of administrative duties
- Working collaboratively with teachers and whānau to support student wellbeing and achievement
This is a fixed-term position through to the end of 2026, working Monday to Thursday, 9:00am–12:30pm during term time.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with children in a learning environment
- Is patient, flexible, and proactive
- Is a team player with an excellent work ethic
- Communicates clearly and builds strong relationships
- Can think on their feet and approach each day with positivity
- An understanding of, or a genuine willingness to learn and uphold, te reo Māori and tikanga Māori, incorporating these respectfully into daily classroom interactions.
